If OP (and other family members who host) are not accommodating a dietary restriction she has, then of course she is going to bring her own food. And she will bring enough to share because she is *not* an asshole. As for the times OP just gave the dish back unserved, of course DIL would make comments - you prevented her from eating! I just feel we have a very unreliable narrator here and there is more going on.

My most maliciously compliant moment in life: I was ~7-8 years old with bronchitis, we were driving somewhere (long trip) - dad in the driver's seat, mom beside him, us in the back seat - and my older brother kept hitting me if/when I coughed... So, a half hour in, I'm black and blue up and down my arm. I keep coughing, he keeps hitting, I start speaking up saying "Stop it!" - thing is, mom used to suffer from debilitating stress and *could not* cope with the cries of sibling fights, so she'd tell us a couple of times to just quit it and be quiet, before yelling at us to shut up. We would, but the second I coughed, he'd hit me, she'd start yelling at us, cycle starts over. I was exhausted, out of breath, sore and angry at both of them (one for hitting me, the other for not "protecting" me)... So I do what any little kid would do - I stop coughing. If that's so easy, why didn't I start that way? Well because I coughed every time I'd try to breathe... So I had to stop breathing. Only a few minutes go by before I start turning blue, look at my brother, see his panic and him telling me to breathe, I still refuse. By the time I have to cough again, I'm dark blue in my face and both my brother and mom are looking now shouting "BREATHE ALREADY!", I do, I start coughing, and very innocently say "I was just so scared to upset you again 🥺 I thought it was just for the best" (fully knowing I was playing the guilt trip card) - the rest of the car ride my mom was upset with my brother, my dad upset with my mom, but everyone felt sorry for me so they were being super nice and bought me a lollypop when we got to a gas station (okay so not a great story, but I feel like I deserved that lollypop more than the punches and the yelling lol)

I love every episode, but particularly the episodes with Lauren, Ale and Justin as it feels like listening to familiar comfortable friends... But Michaela is becoming one of my faves! Keep her coming back 🥰

I have one problem with story 1, the gay couple clearly invited the grandparents cuz they declined. So how are you gonna invite someone yourself but cuz they didnt wanna go and said awfull things you want your family member to fight your battle. There is just no way the gay couple just found out that the grandparents dont like gay people

That first story was so gripping and chilling, some of the best listening on the internet, but then it really devolves into baseless pontification real quick. If this cast focused on scripted storytelling over aimless spiritual speculation it could probably be one of the best ever made

Lauren I totally did the same thing! When me and my bf started dating I talked about moving far away from Philadelphia the only city I had ever known. I had this itch to gtfo! So when my mom asked me to move with her to Colorado I at first thought she wasn’t going to do it but she was serious and I was serious about getting out of Philly! Regarding the last story, people don’t acknowledge how traumatic it is to be cheated on! It causes pain that can last a lifetime. Not to mention how it insults the intelligence of the victim, and depletes their ability to trust another person. OP is an ass and is just rubbing salt in the wound.

Hey, just so you know Smosh Pit actually covered the story the PRIOR brother's girlfrien before Lya story a few weeks ago. You can tell its the same people since everything lines up. INCLUDING the OP even calls this crazy chick Amanda too! For story number two, buckle up because I have a crazy toxic theory about his thought process: I think that the guy is very insecure and he tightened the jars because he wanted his wife to think of him every time she needed a jar opened so that he could feel useful and also so that she would think of him throughout the day and then if she was planning on cheating, not cheat because he would imagine that the sudden thought of him would make her feel bad and not cheat.

Story 4: it can be a contol thing or it could be his love language (acts of service). He loves her bringing things to him to open so he can be her big strong man. Growing up in southern usa, a very common thing you'd hear about men was "at this point I only keep him around to open jars" Or "you'll need a man one day so they'll be able to reach the top shelf for ya and open the jars" like its the only thing they are good for. They also got gratification from being usful and helpful.

Story 3 I honestly do not agree. I believe it's the mother's responsibility to talk to her kids about that before getting engaged to a new guy. She didn't talk to them at ALL and just thought they would understand. I genuinely think OP is leaving something out of the story.. if the kids don't live there and are that upset.. the situation has to be suspicious. We also do not know how the dad felt about moving on.

I’m sorry, but Story 5? The age gap is one thing and gross, but it’s so irrelevant to the question. No matter what the age of the guy is, if the wife is discussing past sexual experiences with another man and PRAISING HIM??? That’s such a gross overstepping of relationship boundaries. She is actively having a sexual conversation with someone outside of her relationship and has no remorse for that at all. I am a twin, my parents did a fantastic job of not ever ever comparing my sister and I. I did not have a competitive relationship with my sister and now at 33. We are the best of friends. We enjoy raising our children together, living five minutes apart. My sister and I are also a lot alike. We were both very good academically and very good athletes, this will not be the same for these brothers. Raising them as twins will only harm them. There will be huge differences in the capabilities because of the year apart. I teach kindergarten and a year is a HUGE difference at that age. This family seems crazy. This man needs to get his boys and go. Not to mention the birth certificate will say multiple or single, they would have to forge two birth certificates to say they were not a single birth. This is the definition of insanity.

It's crazy that "Jessica with the nipples that works on float pool" was said when "Jessica that works on float pool" is right there. She said she's the only one. In hospitals (and honestly any job that has a float pool) everyone knows who's on float. That is a perfectly fine identifier.

Everyone in the cake story sucks. Kids for being so unkind and unhelpful for no reason. Then pissed despite their lack of assistance. The dad for agreeing for the bakery to have the rights to the recipe in perpetuity. I’d of walked out and gone to another bakery. Raised religious, still Christian, but not overly conservative. My main reason for not letting my kid watch Shreik is the innuendo. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great movie with a good storyline line about appreciating all people. But I see it as being a more mature movie because of some of the content. My kid does watch Disney and the like, I’m not concerned about magic, I believe she will be exposed to a lot of it either way and see it as a conversation we can have about what is real, what is right, and what is pretend. If there is content in a movie, show or song that I am unwilling to fully explain then it’s not on the list.
